Privacy policy

The short version

• You do not need an account to use the directory.
• If you save providers on this device without an account, the list stays in your browser. We do not receive it.
• If you create an account, we store your email address, a password (stored only in scrambled, hashed form) and the list of listings you saved. Nothing else.
• We do not sell or rent your information. We do not show ads. We do not use advertising trackers.
• You can delete your account and saved list yourself at any time on the account page.

Please keep health details out

A list of autism providers can say something about a family. We treat it as sensitive. The account has no fields for your child's name, diagnosis or notes, and we ask you not to type those into any form on this site. The directory is general information. It is not medical advice, so talk with your child's doctor about what fits your family.

What we collect, and why

Account email and password

To sign you in. Needed only if you choose to create an account. You must be 18 or older to create one.

Saved listing IDs

To show your saved providers when you sign in on another device. Each saved item is a listing ID, its state and the date saved.

Your location (optional)

If you press "Use my current location," your browser works out distances on your device. We do not receive or store your location.

Forms you send us

The feedback, claim and add-a-listing forms send us what you type, so our team can review it. Use them for provider information, not for personal health details.

Basic server logs

Our host keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and reliability.

Who handles your data

Account sign-in and the saved list are processed by Supabase, our database and sign-in provider. The site is hosted by Netlify. Map tiles load from OpenStreetMap, which sees your IP address when a map is shown. We do not allow any of them to use your data for their own marketing.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and saved list until you delete them. Deleting your account removes your sign-in and your saved list from our database. Routine backups may hold the data for a short time afterwards. Form messages are kept while we work on the request.

• Clear on-device saves by clearing this site's data in your browser.
• Ask us a question or a deletion request through the feedback form.

Children

The directory is written for parents and caregivers. Accounts are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date above and, for account holders, post a notice here.
